Prehistoric Sounds

As the elk bugled it isn't a stretch to feel like you are listening to a sound as old as time. To describe what I heard would be to say it is somewhere between whale songs and how dinosaurs are represented in films like Jurassic Park. It has a unworldly quality. The sound seems to permeate and penetrate everything else. It echos off the valley walls and back again. They seem to be talking to one another. One close to me would bugle and then another one maybe a mile away would answer. It was beautiful to hear and experience.
